Upon application, any license required under this chapter shall be issued to the applicant by the Building Commissioner upon payment by the applicant of a license fee as set forth in the general fee schedule, Chapter 185. Such license shall be issued for a period of one year from January l of the year that it is issued and shall expire on December 31 next following the date of issuance.
