No person shall hold any public dance or give instruction in dancing for hire in any hall or academy within the City until the hall or academy in which the same may be held is first duly licensed for that purpose, as hereinafter provided. The owner of any such hall or academy shall apply to the Mayor for a license for the hall or academy, which application shall be on a form which shall be furnished by the Mayor and, before any license is granted, the application shall be approved by the Mayor. Upon approval of the license by the Mayor, the applicant shall pay an annual license fee as set out in Chapter 185 of the Administrative Code (the General Fee Schedule).
Any license issued hereunder shall expire on December 31 following the issuance thereof. Any such license may be revoked upon order of the Mayor.
