179.02   SATISFACTION OF FINES AND COSTS.
   When a fine is the whole or a part of a sentence, the court may order the person sentenced to remain in jail or the workhouse until such fine and costs are paid or secured to be paid, or until the person is otherwise legally discharged. The person so imprisoned shall receive credit upon such fine and costs at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00) per day for each day's imprisonment.
