173.30   RESTORATION OF VACATION LEAVE AND COMPENSATORY TIME.
   Notwithstanding any other provision in this chapter, any employee who takes vacation leave or compensatory time off for the express purpose of studying and/or otherwise preparing for a promotional examination administered by the Civil Service Commission, or has taken such leave or time off for such purpose on or after June 1, 1988, up to the effective date of this section (Ordinance 421-89, passed February 5, 1990), shall have such time restored to his or her vacation leave and/or compensatory time accrued balances if such promotional examination is postponed for any reason not the fault of the employee for a period of at least six months from the date originally scheduled for such examination. Only vacation leave or compensatory time off taken prior to such originally scheduled date shall be so restored.
