In addition to such salary or compensation as may be provided by any other ordinance, there shall be paid to elected officials, appointed officials, employees in the Department of Public Safety and other designated employees on the payrolls of the City, who are not furnished City-owned vehicles for use in the performance of their duties, a sum equal to the current Internal Revenue Service business standard mileage rate per mile for all mileage so traveled, and in effect at the time so traveled. However, Ohio R.C. 733.79 shall be complied with when such mileage payment is made to any such official or employee for the purpose of attending a conference, convention, course or seminar relating to municipal affairs.
The Auditor is hereby authorized and directed to pay the respective amounts as hereinbefore authorized to the aforementioned persons, and he or she shall charge such expenditures to the proper fund of each division and/or department.
