The Director of Public Safety is hereby authorized to establish rules and regulations for the Department of Public Safety providing that members of the Police and Fire Divisions may be assigned to civilian defense, and when so assigned, shall perform duties in connection with civilian defense as may be provided by the order of assignment.
Upon the establishment of the rules or regulations, the Chief of Police or acting Fire Chief, respectively, is hereby authorized to assign members of the Police or Fire Divisions as may be necessary and advisable to civilian defense duties.
