(a) In accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated, 6-54-1001 et seq., there is hereby created the position of Administrative Hearing Officer to hear violations of any of the provisions codified in the Paris Municipal Code relating to building and property maintenance including the 2006 International Property Maintenance Code and subsequent updates and any Municipal Ordinances codified in Title 8 of the Paris Municipal Code.
The utilization of the administrative hearing officer shall be an alternative to the enforcement in the City of Paris Municipal Court.
(b) The administrative hearing officer shall be appointed pursuant to Section 4-502 below.
(c) The amount of compensation for the administrative hearing officer shall be set by the Board of Commissioners.
(d) Clerical and administrative support for the Office of Administrative Hearing Officer shall be provided as determined by the City Manager.
(e) The administrative hearing officer shall perform all of the duties and abide by all of the requirements provided in T.C.A. 6-54-1001, et seq.
