BUILDING CODE; PERMIT
The provisions of this chapter controlling the construction of buildings or other structures are applicable to and extended to constructions in the territory contiguous to the city not more than 1½ miles beyond the corporate limits of the city, in keeping with the requirements of the city zoning ordinance as set forth in Appendix A of this title.

The regulations contained in the current editions of the International Building Code and the International Residential Code For One- and Two-Family Dwellings published by the International Code Council, Inc. (ICC), 4051 West Flossmore Road, Country Club Hills, Illinois 60478-5795, in book form, are hereby adopted as the regulations governing the construction of buildings and other structures in the city; and it shall be unlawful to erect or construct any building or structure in the city in violation of, or without complying with the appropriate provisions of those regulations. Copies of the code shall be kept on file in the Paris Public Library for inspection, and 2 copies shall be furnished to the Code Enforcement Officer.
