§ 97.036  BOAT AND OPERATOR LICENSES REQUIRED.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motorboat on any city lake without first having secured a license for each motor from the City Clerk or his or her designee.  All boat licenses shall be issued or renewed as of January 1.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor boat on any city lake unless he or she is over the age of 18 and possesses a valid automobile driver’s license or is between the ages of 14 and 17 and has secured a safety boating certificate upon completion of the state boat safety course and has secured a special permit from the city which shall be issued only after the giving of a city boat driving test.
   (C)   It shall be lawful for minors 12 and 13 years of age who have received safety boating certificates from the state boat safety course to operate a motor boat on the city lakes with a passenger in the boat, when the passenger shall be over the age of 18 and shall be licensed to operate the boat.
