Property subject to a lien for unpaid charges for nuisance abatement shall be sold for nonpayment of the charges, and the proceeds of the sale shall be applied to pay the charges after deducting the costs, as is the case with the foreclosure of statutory liens. These foreclosure proceedings shall be in equity in the name of the city.
