(A) The Fire Department Board described in § 36.55 shall be responsible to submit to the City Council an itemized budget covering the next year’s proposed expenditure of funds on or before March 1 of each year. The itemized budget shall define with specificity how the Board proposes to expend its funds during the next fiscal year. This budget shall then be approved by the City Council or returned to the Fire Department board for alterations.
(B) The Fire Department Board shall expend its money in accordance with the budget approved by the City Council only for the purposes of purchasing uniforms, firefighting equipment, or other fire station furniture and furnishings.
