The Mayor shall have and exercise all the powers and perform all the duties that are or may be prescribed by law, or by the city ordinances. He or she shall be the chief executive officer, economic development leader, and representative of the city; he or she shall sign all contracts and warrants on behalf of the city, and all licenses issued by the city; and he or she shall cause to be prepared and published all statements and reports required to be prepared and published by law, or by ordinance or resolution of the Council.
