§ 93.30 WHERE PROHIBITED GENERALLY.
   (A)   No sign shall be erected, relocated, or maintained so as to prevent free ingress to or egress from any door, window, or fire escape. No sign of any kind shall be attached to a standpipe or fire escape.
   (B)   The following signs are prohibited in all districts unless otherwise noted in § 153.57 of this code of ordinances:
      (1)   Roof signs: Roof signs are prohibited.
      (2)   Projecting signs: Projecting signs are prohibited.
      (3)   Signs on or over public right-of-way: Signs which are placed on a public right-of-way or which extend into the public right-of-way are prohibited.
      (4) Terminated business or use signs: Signs which advertise an activity, business, product or service no longer produced or conducted on the premises, upon which the sign is located. For the purpose of this ordinance, a sign shall be considered prohibited if said sign has been in existence on a site for one (1) year and the activity, business, product, or service advertised has not as yet commenced or become available on the zoning lot.
      (5)   Signs similar to traffic signs: signs which imitate an official traffic sign or signal or which contain the words, "stop", "go slow", "caution", "danger", "warning", or similar words are prohibited. Signs which are of a size, location, movement, content, coloring or other manner of illumination which may be confused with or construed as a traffic control device or which hide from view any traffic street sign or signal or which obstruct the view in any direction at a street or road intersection are prohibited.
      (6) Signs containing movable parts: Signs which move in any manner or have moving parts or which give the illusion of motion are prohibited. Except as provided in § 93.40 (A) (11)(a) of this chapter, signs which contain or consist of pennants are prohibited. Signs which contain or consist of streamers, spinners, strings of lights, or festoons, or other similar or moving devices are prohibited provided, however, that strings of lights which are used to display merchandise or for security purposes shall not be prohibited.
      (7)   Miscellaneous signs: Signs which are posted or otherwise attached to utility poles, trees and fences, and water tanks are prohibited.
      (8)   Electronic gaming, video poker, and any sign which advertises or promotes any gaming or gambling activity.
