§ 71.999 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99 of this code of ordinances.
   (B)   It is a petty offense for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required by §§ 71.001 through 71.008 of this chapter and the penalty shall be as provided in § 72.99 of this code of ordinances.

   (C)   (1)   Any person who shall violate any provision of §§ 71.035 through 71.040 of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor unless such conduct is defined by state statute as a gross misdemeanor or greater and, in such cases, the punishment authorized by state statute shall apply.
      (2)   A person registered as the owner of a snowmobile may be fined not to exceed $300 if a snowmobile bearing the person’s registration number is operated contrary to the provisions of §§ 71.035 through 71.040 of this chapter.
