Any person, firm or corporation, whether principal or agent, who violates any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) and costs of prosecution, and in default of the payment of such fine and costs of prosecution shall be imprisoned in jail for a period not to exceed ten days.
