(a) The officials and employees of the Village shall be indemnified and held harmless from any suit, claim, controversy, judgment, cost of suit, court costs, bonds and liability resulting from the performance of their duties as officials and employees of the Village.
(b) This section shall be applied retroactively, if necessary, to cover acts done and performed in the past as well as those performed in the future by the officials, boards, commissions and agencies together with the members thereof and the employees of such boards, commissions and agencies and together with the employees of the various departments of the Village.
(c) The indemnification provided by this section shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following officials, boards, commissions, committees and agencies together with the members and employees thereof:
(1) All elected officials;
(2) All appointed officials;
(3) All employees and legal advisor;
(4) Utilities Board;
(5) Council Committees;
(6) Shade Tree Commission;
(7) Park Board;
(8) Planning Commission;
(9) Any duly designated Community Improvement Corporation for the Village;
(10) Volunteer Fireman’s Dependent Board;
(11) Volunteer Fire Department;
(12) Police Department; and
(13) Income Tax Board. (Ord. 1184. Passed 4-13-87.)
