2-4-10: MONUMENT AND MARKER RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   Right To Prohibit: The city reserves the right to prohibit the erection of any vault, monument, headstone, tablet, or other marker that may be considered inappropriate in material, design, workmanship or location.
   B.   Placement: All monuments, headstones, markers or other memorials are to be set flush with the ground to facilitate the mowing and care of the cemetery.
   C.   Set By Employees: All monuments, headstones, columbaria, niches, markers or other memorials will be set by employees of the city or shall be installed by a city approved contractor/supplier with suitable equipment and ability to perform. No other person or persons will be allowed to do such work. All contractor/supplier installed monuments, headstones or markers shall be installed under the direction of the caretaker. All installation charges shall be made in accordance with the size of the monument, marker, headstone, niche, etc. installed.
   D.   Temporary And Permanent Markers: Grave owners are responsible to install temporary markers on all graves within ten (10) days of interment. Permanent markers must be placed on graves within eighteen (18) months of interment.
   E.   Grave Owner Responsibility: Grave owners must keep in good repair all stones or monumental work upon the grave. The city does not bind itself to maintain, repair or replace any grave marker or monumental structures erected upon the grave other than damage to grave markers or monumental structures caused by the city in which case the city will repair the stones or monumental work. Repairs that are necessary due to normal wear and tear of stones or monumental work will be the responsibility of the grave owner.
   F.   Right To Remove Monuments, Headstones, Markers: The city reserves the right to exclude or remove from any grave, any headstone, monument, marker or other structure which may conflict with these regulations or which the city may consider injurious to the general appearance of the grounds.
