A. Unlawful: It is unlawful for any person to discharge any gun or pistol or air gun or to shoot any bow and arrow within the limits of the city except in self-defense, or in the case of a peace officer performing his official duty, or in case of target shooting after the erection in a proper place of a proper breastwork or barrier for the protection of other persons and their property; provided, however, that nothing contained in this section shall be construed to prohibit the use of play pistols, guns, bows and arrows, or other similar children's toys.
B. Violation; Penalty: A violation of this section is a class B misdemeanor, subject to the penalties provided under title 1, chapter 4 of this code.
