The city shall have the right to refuse water service, or to discontinue water service, without notice at any time to any consumer if the city finds any apparatus or appliances the operation of which will be detrimental to the water system of the city or to any or all of its consumers. Standpipes, hydrants, gate valves and any other apparatus that cause water hammer or any danger to the water system or other consumers’ plumbing shall be immediately repaired or removed upon notice from the city, or at its option, the city may immediately discontinue the service, without notice and without any liability for direct or resulting damages therefrom.
