Obetz known as the Village of Obetz, which operated under the general statutes of the State of Ohio before the adoption of this Charter, shall continue to be a body politic and corporate with the same name under this Charter. Obetz shall have the power and authority to change its boundaries and annex territory in the manner authorized by the laws of Ohio. When the Village of Obetz becomes a city under Ohio law, it shall be known as the “City of Obetz”. In this Charter, “Obetz” shall mean either the Village or City of Obetz, as appropriate.
