§135.34 EXEMPTIONS; WEARING A FACE COVERING IN PUBLIC PLACES.
   The face covering requirements of this chapter do not apply to:
   (A)   Children under two years of age.
   (B)   Persons with medical issues that would be compromised by wearing a face covering.
   (C)   A person who is engaged in a physical activity such as walking or running while maintaining social distancing from other persons.
   (D)   A person who is alone, a person while maintaining social distancing from other persons or a person with members of the person's immediate household.
   (E)   A person who is engaged in the act of eating food or drinking beverages while seated at a table or bar at a restaurant or bar provided that social distancing from other persons is maintained.
   (F)   A person who is traveling in a personal vehicle that is not being used for ride sharing or public transportation.
   (G)   A person who is undergoing a medical examination or treatment of the facial area or a dental examination or treatment.
   (H)   A person who is participating in a religious ritual or service where wearing a face covering would interfere with the person's participation in the religious ritual or service and where social distancing from other persons can be maintained.
   (I)   Business owners, operators, managers, and employees who are in an area of a business establishment, other than the kitchen or other food and beverage preparation area of a restaurant or food establishment that is not open to customers, patrons, or the public, provided that social distancing from other persons is maintained between employees.
   (J)   Patrons or customers in any public indoor place that have no contact with an employee of the business except as protected by a solid barrier such as a Plexiglass shield that substantially prohibits incidental infection from respiratory droplets, provided that social distancing from other persons exists between all other customers or persons not at all times protected by the solid barrier.
   (K)   A person who is communicating with a person who is hearing-impaired and needs to see the mouth of someone who would otherwise be wearing a face covering to communicate.
   (L)   A person who has trouble breathing or while a person is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the face covering without assistance.
   (M)   A person within a workplace area not otherwise open to the public while a person is complying with the workplace COVID-19 controls and/or § 135.35 personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, developed in accordance with the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mitigation and contingency planning document entitled "Guidance for Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19" (as it may be amended or superseded from time to time).
