13-6-1: PURPOSE:
The residence districts provide for the development of various types of dwelling units within a framework of standards designed to:
   A.   Preserve and further promote low density single-family detached dwelling neighborhoods consistent with the predominant character of the village.
   B.   Encourage the development of medium density single-family detached dwelling neighborhoods where it is possible to employ modern, efficient land planning techniques with smaller networks of utilities and pavements.
   C.   Provide for the economically sound and aesthetically pleasing use of areas characterized by their proximity to heavy traffic, the regional shopping center and light industry, including the use of town houses and garden type low density multiple-family dwellings. (Ord. G-60, 3-22-1966)
