ORDINANCE G-660
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A REVISION AND CODIFICATION OF THE GENERAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, IL
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the following Titles 1 to 14, both inclusive, are hereby ordained, approved and adopted as the General Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook. These Titles and any Titles subsequently ordained by this Board from time to time shall constitute the official "Village Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook".
Section 2: That Chapters 1 to 14, both inclusive, and Appendices A ("Zoning Ordinance"), B ("Subdivision Regulations"), of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook of 1977, as amended from time to time, are hereby repealed. Appendices A ("Zoning Ordinance"), B ("Subdivision Regulations") and C ("Traffic Regulations") have been recodified as Titles 13, 14 and 7, respectively, in the official Village Code of Ordinances.
Section 3: That Appendix E ("Rules and Regulations for the Fire Department") and F ("Rules and Regulations for the Police Department") of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook of 1977, shall remain in full force and effect. Henceforth each of these appendices shall be available in pamphlet form in the respective department. Appendix D, ("Personnel Rules and Regulations") of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook of 1977, as amended, was repealed on or about August 10, 1999 by Ordinance G-639 when the Village of Oak Brook Personnel Manual, a separate handbook, was adopted.
Section 4: That the repeal provided for in Section 2 of this ordinance shall not affect any offense or act committed or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred, or any contract or right established accruing before the effective date of this ordinance. All ordinances of a special nature, such as bond issues, contracts, conveyances, annexation, street vacations, appropriation and levees, salary and wages, franchises, buildings, zoning relief for specific properties, imposition of taxes, and other ordinances having been adopted independent of the 1977 Code shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5: That all ordinances of a general nature included in this official Village Code of Ordinances shall be considered as a continuation of said ordinance provision, and the fact that some provisions have been deliberately eliminated by the President and Board of Trustees shall not serve to cause any interruption in the continuous effectiveness of ordinances included in said official Village Code.
Section 6: That from and after the date of passage of this ordinance, the Village Code of Ordinances of the Village of Oak Brook containing the compilation of all ordinances of a general nature together with the changes made to said ordinances, shall be accepted in all courts without question as the official code and law of the Village as enacted by the President and Board of Trustees.
