7-1-401: ALTERNATIVE PENALTIES; COMPLIANCE WARNING TICKETS:
   A.   Any person, pursuant to the issuance of a compliance warning ticket, who is accused of a violation of certain sections of this title as hereinafter described may settle and compromise that ticket by making a payment to the village in the amount of seventy five dollars ($75.00) no later than thirty (30) days from the date that such alleged violation was committed. Notwithstanding the foregoing, any fee paid pursuant to this section shall be reduced to fifty dollars ($50.00) if the payment is made within ten (10) days from the date that the compliance warning ticket is issued. This section shall not apply to any offense for which a court appearance is required pursuant to article 551 of the Illinois supreme court rules, that is classified as a violation governing the movement of vehicles, is a reportable offense under section 6-204 of the Illinois vehicle code, 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/6-204, or is a violation of section 7-1-1301.1, "Parking Spaces For Persons With Disabilities", of this chapter.
   B.   The issuance of compliance warning citations shall be at the discretion of the issuing police officer in lieu of instituting a prosecution in court for the alleged offense. If the person accused of the violation does not settle the claim, a notice to appear, as proscribed in title 1, chapter 15, "Code Hearing Department", of this code, will be issued for the violation and that person shall be subject to the general penalties set forth by the applicable ordinances of Oak Brook.
   C.   The following violations of the Illinois vehicle code, 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/1 et seq., as adopted by reference herein, shall be subject to the alternative penalty compliance procedures described in this section:
