8-2-5: SERVICE LATERALS:
   A.   Specifications:
      1.   Service laterals shall be type K copper, a minimum of three-fourths inch (3/4") in diameter. Pipe sizes one inch (1") up to four inches (4") shall be PVC, copper or asbestos cement. Pipes four inches (4") and over shall be transite.
      2.   Water connections shall be limited to only one service lateral for each business or residential unit.
      3.   Service laterals larger than three-fourths inch (3/4") in diameter will be installed upon application to the water department and upon condition that the applicant shall pay the cost of the water meter of equivalent pipe size, together with the usual installation charges of the city as provided herein.    B.   Cost: Service laterals of suitable size not to exceed sixty five feet (65') in length will be furnished from the main to the property line upon application to the water department and prepayment of the charges therefor, as hereinafter provided. The water department shall furnish all labor and materials necessary for such construction, including tapping of mains, installation of corporation and curb cocks and connections, and such quality and type of pipe as specified in this section. The charge for installation of a service connection shall be the actual cost to the city of labor, materials and normal overhead expenses. The estimated cost of the work shall be paid before installation is commenced. All service connections shall be maintained by the city at its sole expense. (1962 Code § 2-1-6)
