7-3-2: PERMIT REQUIREMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   Permit Required: It shall be unlawful for any person to cut, break out or remove any curb along a street or alley without first obtaining a permit for a driveway approach, as hereinafter provided. (1962 Code § 8-4-2)
   B.   Application For Permit:
      1.   Any person desiring to construct a curb cut and apron shall first make application to the city engineer for a permit therefor. Such application shall be in writing upon a form provided by the city and available at the office of the city engineer. Each application shall provide information showing the type of construction, the width of the proposed driveway approach, the location of said driveway approach by lot and block number, as well as by street and house number, and such other information as may be required by the city engineer. The application shall be filed by the property owner desiring to construct said curb cut and apron, or by his duly authorized agent.
      2.   This subsection B shall not apply to the construction of an unpaved driveway approach which will not involve the cutting of a curb. (1962 Code § 8-4-3)
   C.   Issuance Of Permit: Such permit shall be issued by the city engineer upon compliance by the applicant with the terms of this chapter and the payment of the permit fee hereinafter specified. (1962 Code § 8-4-4)
   D.   Permit Fees: The fees for permits for the construction of driveway curb cuts and aprons provided for herein shall be as follows: (1962 Code § 8-4-5)
      1.   For residential curb cuts and apron, twenty five dollars ($25.00). (1962 Code § 8-4-5; amd. 2014 Code)
      2.   For business curb cuts and apron, twenty five dollars ($25.00). (1962 Code § 8-4-5)
   E.   Use Of Driveway Approach As Parking Approach: It shall be unlawful for any person to construct, alter or extend, or permit or cause to be constructed, altered or extended any driveway approach which can be used only as a parking space or area between the curb and private property.
