1454.28 CONSTRUCTION OF ROOF SIGNS OR BULLETINS.
   (a)   When a roof sign is an electric sign, such signs shall be constructed as provided for in Sections 1454.39 and 1454.40.
   (b)   Solid face roof signs and roof bulletins shall be constructed of metal or other equally noncombustible, strong and durable material, except that the ornamental moldings and the battens behind the metal facing of such roof signs and roof bulletins may be of wood.
   (c)   The supports, guys and bracing for all roof signs and roof bulletins shall be of steel or of an equally noncombustible and durable material.
   (d)   All roof signs and roof bulletins, including their supports, guys and braces, shall be designed and constructed as required in Section 1454.04.
   (e)   No roof sign or roof bulletin shall be supported on, or guyed or braced to, any structural member or construction in a manner which would be unsafe, or cause the stresses in such member or construction to exceed the maximum stresses permitted in this Building and Housing Code.
   (f)   Materials used for supports, guys, braces and connections, when subject to rust and deterioration, shall be treated with an approved protective against rust and deterioration caused by atmospheric conditions.
