(a) Control joints, whether hand tooled or sawn, shall be to a depth of one-fourth the thickness of the slab. The dimensions of any control panel shall not exceed ten feet.

(b) Isolation joints shall be required where concrete abuts any structure, including, but not limited to, foundations, garage floors, stoops, paved streets and City sidewalks. A superior method of construction, particularly where concrete work abuts a stoop, may be approved by the Building Commissioner.
