1460.03 COMPACTORS.
   (a)   Required. All commercial and industrial establishments which, by the nature of their business, generate volumes of trash which preclude the use of the usual disposal methods (dumpsters, etc.), shall have installed a compactor system for this use. Bundled trash shall not be stored for longer than seven consecutive days.
   (b)   Specifications. For purposes of this chapter, the following specifications are prescribed for garbage and trash compactors:
      (1)   They must be of a type that has been tested and approved by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
      (2)   They must be installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code, as adopted in Section 1424.01.
      (3)   They must bear the seal of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., or another certifying body.

1460.04 INCINERATORS.
   All incinerators presently being utilized for garbage or trash disposal purposes shall be kept and maintained in good repair as otherwise set forth in these Codified Ordinances. Effective September 30, 1994, the use of incinerators for such purposes shall be prohibited.

1460.05 RIGHT OF ENTRY FOR INSPECTION.
   The Building Commissioner or his or her duly authorized representative may enter and inspect any premises for the purpose of investigating the installation of garbage and trash compactors.

1460.06 WATER PRESSURE REDUCING VALVES
   No residential building shall be constructed unless the structure is equipped with an approved water pressure reducing valve that can maintain pressure at 80 pounds or less.

1460.99 PENALTY.
   Whoever violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Whoever is convicted of or pleads guilty to a misdemeanor, or minor misdemeanor shall be sentenced in accordance with Section 698.02. A separate offense shall be deemed committed each day during or on which a violation or noncompliance occurs or continues.
