The Bureau of Fire Prevention shall inspect and approve the installation of carbon monoxide detectors as specified in this chapter for all new single and multifamily dwelling units and shall issue a report to the Building Commissioner acknowledging compliance with this chapter prior to the issuance of an occupancy permit by the Building Department. The Building Commissioner shall have concurrent jurisdiction with the Chief of the Fire Department to inspect the installation of any carbon monoxide detector required to be installed by this chapter.
