All original and promotional appointments shall be for a probationary period as stipulated in Ohio R.C. 124.27, and no appointment shall be deemed final until the appointee has satisfactorily served his or her probationary period. The Chief of Police shall make a written report to the Mayor and Council at the end of the probationary period of each appointee, concerning the manner in which the appointee has performed his or her duties.
