218.01 DRUG FREE WORKPLACE POLICY FOR MUNICIPAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.
   Effective immediately, each contractor or subcontractor bidding on a publicly funded construction project sponsored by the City of North Royalton, to be paid for by public funds by the City of North Royalton, shall include in its application to be considered or awarded a public construction project contract, adequate proof that it is enrolled in the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Drug-Free Workplace Program or a similar program approved by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation and in good standing in the drug-free workplace program. The Bureau of Workers' Compensation Drug Free Workplace Program includes and requires a written substance abuse policy, drug/alcohol educational awareness, substance testing, assistance for all employees, and training for all supervisors of the contractors and subcontractors. Such program must be sponsored or approved by the Bureau of Workers' Compensation. This policy shall apply to all contractors and subcontractors, including all support employees, staff, management, craft persons, estimators, supervisors, owners, delivery personnel, and all those employed by said contractor and subcontractor. The Mayor or administration shall make every effort to obtain documentation to corroborate said enrollment by each applicant.
