ORDINANCE NO. O-16-2023
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS

   WHEREAS, a written petition signed by the legal owner of the property described on Exhibit “A” attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference (“Property”) has been filed with the City Clerk; and
   WHEREAS, the Property is contiguous to the City of Northlake; and
   WHEREAS, the Property does not include any highway under the jurisdiction of any township; and
   WHEREAS, the City of Northlake does not provide fire protection or library services; and
   WHEREAS, the statutory procedures provided for in Section 7-1-8 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/7-1-8) have been fully complied with; and
   WHEREAS, the corporate authorities have determined that the annexation of the Property will promote a corporate purpose.   
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Northlake, Cook County, Illinois, in the exercise of Northlake’s home rule powers as follows:
   SECTION 1:    The foregoing preambles are restated and incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth herein.
   SECTION 2: The Property legally described in Exhibit “A” attached hereto is annexed to the City of Northlake.
   SECTION 3: The current width of 45 feet of the subject property shall be considered as the minimum lot width for a buildable single family lot, as it is compatible with other similar lots in the area bounded by Geneva Avenue on the west and Mannheim Road on the east.
   SECTION 4: The City Clerk is authorized and directed to record a certified copy of this ordinance along with an accurate plat of annexation with the Cook County Recorder of Deeds.
   SECTION 5:   If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, the invalidity thereof shall not affect any of the other provisions of this ordinance.
   SECTION 6:   All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
   SECTION 7:   This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
