(a) All positions for employment shall be posted prior to publication so that any current employee of the Village of North Kingsville shall have a seven (7) day period to submit an application for said position.
(b) All applications shall be examined by the committee appropriate for the department that has an opening and by the department head.
(c) The committee shall recommend one applicant to the Mayor for approval. If the Mayor does not accept the proposed applicant, the committee shall submit its second choice to the Mayor. If there are no applications recommended by the committee or not approved by the Mayor, the position shall then be advertised in a publication of general circulation in the Village of North Kingsville, and such advertisement shall include a statement that the Village is an equal opportunity employer.
(d) Once the Mayor approves an applicant, the applicant’s name shall be submitted to Council for approval. If Council rejects the applicant, the Mayor shall request another proposed applicant from the appropriate committee.
