(a) In order to use vacation time, an employee must have completed one year of service with the Village. Employees must be in an active pay status to accrue vacation leave.
(b) The vacation accrual schedule is as follows:
(1) One year of service and up to five years of service 80 hours
(2) Five years of service and up to ten years of service 120 hours
(3) Ten years of service and up to twenty years of service 160 hours
(4) Twenty or more years of service 200 hours
(c) Employees will be granted vacation leave credit in accordance with Ohio R.C. 9.44.

(d) Vacation Buy Back Policy.
(1) All vacation time must be used in the year it is earned or be lost by the employee without compensation.
(2) If an employee considers that they have extraordinary and special circumstances as to why they cannot use their vacation time, said employee may make a request for up to one (1) week vacation buy back.
(3) Requests, for up to one (1) week vacation buy back shall be made to the employee’s supervisor. The supervisor shall notify the Mayor and the Mayor shall timely grant or deny said request and thereafter notify the supervisor and the Chairperson of the Finance Committee.
