The following days shall be observed as holidays by full-time employees of the Village of North Kingsville:
New Year's Day,
Martin Luther King Day,
Presidents Day,
Memorial Day,
June 19th Juneteenth
Independence Day,
Labor Day,
Columbus Day,
Veterans Day,
Thanksgiving Day, and
Christmas Day.
The dates for observation shall be those designated at the Federal level, unless otherwise provided by the Village Council.
When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday is observed. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is observed. Village offices are closed on legal holidays as appointed by the Council or Governor, only when ratified by the Village of North Kingsville Council.
To be eligible for a paid holiday, the employee must work his/her regularly scheduled shift the day before and the day after the holiday or present just cause to his or her supervisor justifying the absence.
