137.02 APPOINTMENTS; TERM OF OFFICE OF FIRE CHIEF.

(a) The Fire Chief and members of the Fire Department shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of Council. The Fire Chief shall hold his or her office for a term of two years and until his or her successor is appointed and qualified.

(b) The appointment of any person as a member of the Fire Department and the Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad shall be contingent upon the approval of a majority of the members of Council.
