§ 113.47 INSPECTION OF RECORDS AND REPORTS.
   (A)   The Chief of Police or his or her designee shall have the right to inspect the records of an operator of a vehicle for hire at any time during normal business hours of the operation. In addition, the holder of a certificate of convenience and necessity (herein “holder”) operator shall provide reports to the Chief of Police or his or her designee as follows:
      (1)   On the first day of the month during each month of the license period, the holder shall provide the beginning and ending mileage of the vehicle for the previous month and a summary of inspections and maintenance activities;
      (2)   A report of the termination of employment of any driver for any reason within 15 days of the date thereof;
      (3)   A copy of the state safety inspection certificate within 15 days of the annual inspection of each vehicle, if applicable;
      (4)   A summary of any changes in the insurance coverages for a vehicle for hire as required by § 113.16;
      (5)   A report of the revocation of the North Carolina driver’s license of any operator or any driver or any conviction of the operator or any driver of any of the offenses described in § 113.51 within five days thereof; and
      (6)   A report of any changes in the persons having a beneficial interest in the business within five days thereof.
   (B)   The Chief of Police or his or her designee may require such reports to be made on forms approved and developed by the town. The failure to provide any of the reports set forth above shall be grounds for revocation of an operator’s license. In addition, each failure shall subject the operator to the penalties set forth in the town code.
