§ 35.701 CODE OF ETHICS.
   (A)   The sole objective of the village is to provide services or the benefit of all citizens of the community. All employees must be aware of the importance placed on them as employees and, being employed by a governmental agency, must realize that they are bound to uphold the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution and Code of the State of Ohio, the Charter of the Municipality of New Lebanon, and all subsequent rules and regulations established by the village. All employees are bound by the highest standards of morality and should be concerned that their official functions as village employees, as well as their private lives, should be conducted so as not to reflect poorly on the village.
   (B)   Employees shall cooperate fully with other public officials and employees and shall have no personal or financial interest which may interfere or conflict with their function as village employees. No public official or employee shall use or attempt to use his or her official position to secure any valuable thing or valuable benefit for himself or herself that would not ordinarily accrue to him or her in the performance of his or her official duties, which thing or benefit is of such character as to manifest a substantial and improper influence on him or her with regard to his or her job duties. The Municipal
Manager is authorized to require any village employee to disclose any financial interest of the employee which may be in violation of the above-stated provisions.
