When appropriate traffic control signals are installed at an intersection, the operator of a vehicle entering the intersection shall obey the signal displayed as the driver approaches the intersection except when directed by an officer to do otherwise. The operator of a vehicle entering an intersection controlled by a flashing signal shall obey the signal displayed as the driver approaches the intersection. Failure to obey the signal shall be subject to fines as stated in § 70.99(F).
