Before granting such license, the City Treasurer, unless otherwise directed by lawful authority, shall collect the license fees prescribed below or elsewhere in this code for the trades, businesses and professions requiring licenses as provided in the respective sections of this city code. Unless otherwise specified, the term of each license shall be for the calendar year.
