   C.   A licensed animal impounded and having or suspected of having a serious physical injury or contagious disease, and which requires medical attention may, in the discretion of the City or its designee, be released by the City to the care of a veterinarian with the consent of the owner.
   D.   If the City or its designee determines that an animal should be destroyed for either humane reasons or to protect the public from imminent danger to persons or property, that animal may be destroyed subject to the provisions of this chapter.
   E.   Animals held for adoption must be vaccinated, and may be microchipped at the discretion of the City or its designee. The cost of the vaccination and microchipping shall be paid by the person adopting the animal pursuant to subsection 6.08.080C of this chapter.
