2.70.020: MEMBERSHIP:
It is the intent of this chapter that the Board represent the concerns of diverse citizen groups, as well as the broad interests of the community as a whole. Board membership should provide balanced representation in terms of professional, neighborhood, and community interests. Suggested backgrounds, from which expertise might be selected, may include: owner or manager of a business located in the City, member of the Murray City School District, urban planning, prior experience in law enforcement, prior experience as a firefighter, experience or involvement in public service activity, and mental or behavioral health. Such experience is not a prerequisite for appointment. It is intended that the composition of the Board represent a cross section of the community. A member of the Board may not be a current employee of the City. The Police Chief and Fire Chief, or designees, shall serve as advisors to the Board. (Ord. 20-29)
