(A) All costs and expenses incident to the installation and connection of the building sewer shall be borne by the property owner. The property owner shall indemnify the city from any loss or damage that may directly be occasioned by the installation of the building sewer.
(B) A separate and independent building sewer shall be provided for every building, except that where one building stands at the rear of another on an interior lot and no sewer is available or can be constructed to the rear of the building through an adjoining alley, courtyard, or driveway. In that case, the building sewer from the front building may be extended to the rear building and the whole considered as one building sewer, but the city does not and shall not assume any obligation or responsibility for any damages caused by or resulting from any such single connection aforementioned.
(C) Permit and inspection fees for new buildings using existing building sewers shall be the same as for new building sewers. If additional sewer customers are added to the old building sewers, additional sewer tap fees shall be charged accordingly even though no new sewer tap is actually made into the city system.
(D) Whenever possible, the building sewer shall be brought to the building at an elevation below the basement floor. In all buildings in which any building drain is too low to permit gravity flow to the public sewer, sanitary sewage carried by such building drain shall be lifted by a method approved by the Wastewater Inspector and discharged to the building sewer. The property owner shall bear any cost for a lift station above and beyond the usual and customary lift method utilized.
(E) The connection of the building sewer into the public sewer shall conform to the applicable rules and regulations of the city. All such connections shall be made gastight and water- tight. Any deviation from the prescribed procedures and materials must be approved by the Wastewater Inspector before installation.
(F) The building sewer shall be connected into the public sewer at the sewer lateral provided by the Murray Sewer System. A cleanout must also be provided by the property owner or customer at the point of connection to the city's collection system.
(G) When the building sewer is ready for connection to the public sewer, the applicant for the building sewer shall notify the Murray Sewer System. The connection shall be made under the supervision of the Murray Sewer System.
