For the purpose of this subchapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE. Includes the Mayor or any person who is designated by § 33.151 to act as Chief Executive Officer of the city during the unavailability of the Mayor.
DISASTER. Occurrence of widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property resulting from any natural or manmade cause, including but not limited to fire, flood, earthquake, wind, storm, oil or chemical spill or release, contamination requiring immediate action to avert danger or damage, explosion, riot, or hostile military or paramilitary action.
EMERGENCY. The occurrence or imminent threat of occurrence of a disaster.
MAYOR. Includes a successor Mayor appointed pursuant to I.C. 36-4-5-9 as the same may be amended.
