(a) All fittings and appropriate joints shall be restrained by an approved retainer gland device or by concrete thrust blocking. (See Village of Mount Gilead, Ohio Standard Details).
(b) Fittings shall be of ductile iron, mechanical joint type shall conform A WW A C111 and ANSI A21.10 (Class 250 minimum) and shall be coated and lined and asphaltic coated in accordance with AWWA C151.
(c) The branch of the tees for fire hydrants shall be of the anchoring type, incorporating a follower gland and shall be compatible with the anchoring pipe as shown in the standards drawings.
(d) All Ductile Iron Fittings to be fully wrapped with 8 mil Polyethylene wrap with both ends of fitting covered to 1 foot beyond end and taped sufficiently with corrosion protection pipe wrap tape.
