911.18 WATER MAINS.
   (a)   All materials and construction shall be in accordance with the "Construction and Material Specifications" of the State Department of Transportation (ODOT), latest edition; American Water Works Association (A WW A) Specifications, latest edition; American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the current Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Standards and Specifications, and the Village of Mount Gilead Materials and Specifications.
   (b)   Deviations from these standards and specifications are subject to the approval of the Village Administration and their Engineer.
   (c)   Slag products are prohibited for use as bedding, backfill, base materials and aggregates.
   (d)   A minimum of ten (10) feet horizontally and eighteen (18) inches vertically from any sanitary sewer must always be maintained. No entry or contact with a sewer manhole is permitted.
   (e)   Pipe to be sized for a fire flow of 500gpm at a minimum residual pressure of 45 psi.
   (f)   The minimum pipe size shall be eight (8) inches in diameter.
   (g)   PVC pressure pipe shall conform to the requirements of A WW A Standard C-900 latest revision, DR 18, Class 150. Open-cut PVC Pipe shall have detectable tracer wire installed in the trench. Tracer wire shall be #12 gauge with a 30mil polyethylene casing. Wire shall be tested for conductivity after installing.
   (h)   For drilled pipe tracer wire shall be #8 gauge with a 45mil polyethylene casing.
   (i)   Drilled pipe shall be class 150 DR-18 Certain Teed Certa-Lok c900/RJ PVC Pipe or approved equal.
   (j)   Mechanical joints and push-on joints shall be in accordance with ANSI A21.11 (AWWA C-111); incorporating rubber gaskets.
