ADOPTING ORDINANCES

ORDINANCE 1993-1

   AN ORDINANCE of the Town of Morristown, Indiana adopting a Code of Ordinances designated as the “Code of Morristown” containing the Ordinances.

   BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of the Town of Morristown, as follows:

   Section 1. Within the meaning of Indiana Code 36-1-5, the Town Council of the Town of Morristown hereby adopts a certain Code of Ordinances, with the title thereon of “Town of Morristown, Indiana Code of Ordinances”, as compiled by the American Legal Publishing Corporation of Cincinnati, Ohio and modified by the Town as the same exists at the time of the adoption of this Ordinance; and the same shall be designated as the “Code of Morristown”, and shall contain all ordinances of the Town Council of the Town of Morristown and its predecessors and successors, as the legislative body of the Town of Morristown, Indiana.

   Section 2. That two copies of the Code of Morristown are on file in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer of the Town of Morristown in the Town Hall of Morristown, Indiana for public inspection; and the Code of Morristown is incorporated herein by reference.

   Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, except that any provision in the Code of Morristown prescribing a penalty or forfeiture or a violation shall take effect two weeks after the adoption of this ordinance.

   Section 4. That the Town Council of the Town of Morristown hereby publishes this Ordinance and the Code of Morristown in a book or pamphlet form; and no other publication is required, under Indiana Code 36-4-6-14(c).

   The above Ordinance was passed on first reading at the regular meeting of the Board of Town Trustees on February 24, 1993. Ayes 3 , Noes      .

   The foregoing ordinance was passed upon final reading, at the regular meeting of the Board of Town Trustees, on February 24, 1993, after unanimous agreement for suspension of the requirement preventing final passage of Ordinance at meeting in which it was introduced. Ayes 3 Noes     .
