ORDINANCE NO. 1998-1

   AN ORDINANCE of the Town Council of the Town of Morristown, Indiana, enacting and adopting a supplement to the Code for the Town of Morristown.

   WHEREAS, a supplement to the Code of Morristown has been prepared containing supplemental ordinances of a general and permanent nature enacted since the prior supplement or original adoption of the Code of Morristown; and

   WHEREAS, the Morristown Town Council desires to accept this supplement in accordance with the change of laws of the State of Indiana; and

   WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for the operation of the Town of Morristown and for the immediate preservation of public peace, health, safety and general welfare of the community that this ordinance shall take effect at an earlier date;

   NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MORRISTOWN, INDIANA, as follows:

   SECTION 1. That the supplement to the Code of Morristown attached hereto and incorporated herein be and the same is hereby adopted, and each and every provision thereof shall amend the provisions of the Code of Morristown as they purport, as if set out in the entirety, making such amendments.

   SECTION 2. Such supplement shall be deemed published as of the day of its adoption and approval by the Morristown Town Council and the President of the Town Council; and the Clerk-Treasurer is authorized and directed to insert such supplement into the Code of Morristown kept on file in the office of the Clerk.

   SECTION 3. This ordinance is declared to be an emergency and shall be effective immediately. The preceding notwithstanding, by reason of the fact that the supplement is merely a compilation of ordinances already adopted by the Town Council of the Town of Morristown, the individual ordinances originally adopting the components of this supplement shall be deemed effective as of the date thereof; and this supplement is confirmatory of the adoption of such original ordinances.

   SECTION 4. All ordinances in conflict herewith are amended, to the extent of such conflict or incompatibility only.

   The above Ordinance was passed on first reading at the regular meeting of the Morristown Town Council on January 31, 1998. Ayes: 3 Noes: 0

   The foregoing ordinance was passed upon final reading, at the regular meeting of the Morristown Town Council on January 31, 1998, after unanimous agreement for suspension of the requirement preventing final passage of Ordinance at meeting in which it was introduced. Ayes 3 Noes     .
