The Village of Millersburg has established a columbarium at Oak Hill Cemetery.
"Columbarium" means a structure of vaults lined with recesses for urns containing cremains.
"Cremains" means the ashes of a cremated human body.
"Disinter" means the act of taking an urn out of a niche after it has been interred.
"Inter" means the act of placing an urn in a niche.
"Urn" means a vessel in which cremains are placed for preservation.
“Niche" means a recess in the columbarium to hold urns.
“Owner" means the owner of rights of interment or disinterment.
"Right to Bury" means a certificate purchased by an owner and issued by the Village which gives the owner rights of interment. Said certificate shall be developed by the Village.
(b) Any person may purchase a Right to Bury for a niche in the columbarium.
The purchase of a Right to Bury certificate for a niche is a final sale and not exchangeable, unless transfer is to a relative of the purchaser and said transfer is approved by the Village. Notwithstanding the previous sentence, the Village may repurchase a niche at 75% of the current price, at the discretion of Council.
(c) Niche pricing shall be as noted in the table below with $150 of the niche price to be placed in the Cemetery Endowment Fund. Price includes a niche faceplate provided by the Village and the cost of engraving the niche plate as indicated in Section 945.022 below.
